Voices from Isolation at Flatpack Film Festival 202101.06.21
Last week, Sonita Gale was a panelist on Flatpack Film Festival's Q&A titled Voices From Isolation: Reflections on the Windrush Scandal.
The talk was moderated by Patrick Vernon OBE, a long-standing social commentator and cultural historian and campaigner for the Windrush Generation. We were also joined by Natalie Barnes, daughter of the late Paulette Wilson - a prominant campaigner for the Windrush Generation, Cllr Sonia Winifred - councillor for Lambeth, and Anthony Bryan who had been affected by the Windrush Scandal.
During the event, Sonita shared scene selects and a sample of her latest feature length documentary currently in post production: Voices From Isolation. This was followed by a Q&A discussing the film and the effects of the Windrush Scandal, as well as what actions now need to be taken against the continuation of Hostile Environment policies in the UK.
If you were unable to join us, stay tuned for the recording of the event coming soon. Over the next few months as part of our impact campaign we will be working closely with Patrick Vernon to highlight effects of the Hostile Enivironment policies on the Windrush Generation.
